Halcyon-17 is completed!!!

Check out the trailer for our completed film, Halcyon-17! This project was created over the course of 10 weeks, from concept to finish. It's been a pleasure working with Jeff MacDonald and Colin Wheeler during the production of this film! I am looking forward to the next film that we will work on together in the future.

Shooting footage/ Halcyon-17

Here are some photos taken by fellow collaborator Jeff MacDonald. The Halcyon-17 team is on fire. Here we are work shooting footage of flower petals. Sometimes it's more efficient to just shoot the footage yourself opposed to creating a digital effect.

Self Portrait

Quick self portrait, created today for some websites where I need a picture. :)

Tethered: Character Sketches

Here are my character sheets for the short film "Tethered." I am happy with these character designs. I went through about 75 silhouette sketches of these characters. I may post the silhouettes in the future.

I am about to start working on a third short film over the next 10 weeks with two friends. Look forward to seeing some concept art for the film.

"Tethered" is the title for a film I recently wrote and storyboarded. The image above is how I envision the film, simple, yet rich in color. “Tethered” is an animated short fi lm following grandmother, Nita, and her granddaughter, Tia, as they travel up the mountainside to place fl owers on their family grave. Tia shares a special moment with her grandmother as a butter y finds its way to a flower she had picked. Creating a new tether to a kite, Tia is continually distracted by the butterfly as her grandmother’s kites are threatened by the wind.

Sophie, the therapy dog

On the Friday of the second to last week of SCAD Sophie the therapy dog comes to visit the students of the Film and Digital Media school. Here are some sketches of her while I was waiting for a file to render. She is a beautiful white German Shepard, and it's amazing how good she is with everyone. All the students come right up to her and just make a semi circle around her to pet and enjoy her company.

Demo Reel

Here is a link to some sample animation works of mine. Overall I'm satisfied with this cut of my first demo reel. There will be many more updates soon to come in the animations section of my website. Next week I will be putting together a schedule for some new works and revision of old works all the be completed by the end of April. Lots of projects are opening up here at SCAD. I'm looking forward to the end next week when I get to see the finished films that I've been working on the last 9 weeks. In the mean time, check out my demo reel!

Touch Ups

Did a quick touch up to this painting particular in the tree trunk and the corner of the house. This piece has become a little break though for myself and my personal goals in painting and characters (as I mentioned in a previous post). Also, you may recognize these two little kids from a sketchbook page I posted earlier as well. :)
